A warm and inviting open-plan, family-oriented home designed for the views, with passive solar and multiple-function living, dining and recreation areas.

ENTRY - Because the entry provides the first impression to visitors, Ken Pieper designed it to be human in scale while making a statement about the quality and design of the home.

DINING AREA - The butler’s pantry and mini-kitchen make this area easy to service—by home cook or caterer.

MASTER SUITE - Secluded, romantic and comfortable with good feng shui, this suite has his-and-hers closets and bathroom facilities.

FAMILY GATHERING AREA - The heart of the home, this family-centered room is part of the kitchen and has a cozy fireplace area.

GALLERY - Don’t call it a hall. This is a snapshot of the family experience where photos, certificates and blue ribbons are proudly displayed.
OFFICE/LIBRARY - A secluded place to get work done or just hang out with a good book.
FAMILY ROOM - On the lower level, this room—the central hub of family entertaining—has a fireplace, wet bar and a wine cellar.
PATIO - An outdoor room, sheltered from the weather by a solid deck above, is an organic extension of the family room.
MEDIA ROOM - Sound resistant, with state-of-the-art electronics (and theater lighting) by Residential Systems, Inc. (www.residentialsystemsinc.com).

WORKING WITH THE LAND
“The land dictates the shape of the structure,” says Pieper. “The walkout basement area balanced the site so we did not have to export or import any soil.” The scrub brush that was cleared was immediately mulched and returned to the land.
